Office Hell

Office Hell is a small browser game inspired by Reigns, set in the deeply unreasonable world of open-plan office life.

You survive by making one absurd two-way decision after another. Every card throws a new workplace problem at you: meetings, HR rituals, broken tools, passive-aggressive kitchen politics, suspicious IT incidents, and the kind of calendar chaos that should probably be illegal.

Each choice affects your run behind the scenes. You are trying to keep four stats from collapsing: energy, reputation, money, and sanity. If one of them hits zero, your run is over. Some choices can also kill you immediately in especially stupid ways.

The important part is that the consequences are never shown in advance. You have to rely on instinct, bad judgment, and whatever is left of your professional dignity.

There is no clean happy ending here, only different flavors of damage. You might end up rich and mentally ruined, respected and completely exhausted, or somehow “successful” in a way that clearly should not count as healthy.

Office Hell is also a personal side project I’m building in my free time, and in a lot of ways it’s my first real step into game development. I wanted to stop waiting for the “perfect” first project and instead make something small, weird, funny, and actually playable.

So this game is both a joke about office misery and a genuine learning project for me. I’m using it to get better at designing game systems, writing interactive events, shaping tone, balancing mechanics, and most importantly: finishing things and putting them out into the world.

If parts of it feel a little scrappy, oddly specific, or very committed to tiny workplace disasters, that’s because this project is being built with a lot of curiosity, a lot of trial and error, and a lot of affection for absurd details.
